To accurately process cash, ensuring daily reconciliation aligns with company financial controls and audit requirements.
The role ensures strict cash handling compliance in a high-volume manufacturing and distribution environment
Cash Handling & Processing
- Receive and process cash from Driver Salesmen.
- Issue receipts for all transactions.
- Verify float at beginning and end of shift.
- Secure all cash in accordance with company cash control procedures.
- Prepare daily cash-up documentation.
Reconciliation & Reporting
- Reconcile daily driver takings against:
- Route
settlement reports
- Returns documentation Shortages
and overages
- Investigate and escalate variances immediately.
- Prepare daily banking summaries.
Banking & Compliance
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Internal financial controls
- Audit requirements
- Fraud prevention policies
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 1–3 years’ cashiering experience (preferably in FMCG, manufacturing)
- Experience handling high volumes of cash
- Basic accounting knowledge
Advantageous
- Experience in bakery / FMCG manufacturing
- Exposure to route settlement processes
