Driver: Forklift
Job Purpose:
To safely and accurately move pallets of stock between locations, by following instructions from the WMOS via RF connected devices.
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure that damages to MHE, equipment and stock is eliminated by following safe working procedures
- Adhering to Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Maintain and enhance safety and minimise losses by following good housekeeping procedures
- Working within a physically demanding environment
- Working in a Team environment, with the same goal and vision
- Report and record any non-conformity with regards to customer merchandise
- Ensure correct use of Pallet Jack and Forklift machine when fulfilling picking functions and to timeously report any defects
- Assist with cycle counting & stock counts
- Ensure that all operational activities are performed in line with the OMS – Kiosk – applicable Job Codes
- Removing all damaged stock out of the warehouse on a daily basis
- Recovery put-away to be completed on a daily basis
- Preparing stock if any destruction takes place
- Receive instructions from the Supervisor to which truck to offload on Hand-ball
- Ensure that all hand-ball stock is properly shrink wrapped
- If operationally required assist where needed within the operation
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
- Ensure that the product quality is not compromised
- Stuffing and the stuffing of containers
- Sorting of damaged pallets, i.e. plastic/chep
- Adhere to the units SHERQ rules and best practices
- Adherence to Health & Safety rules
- Ensure that all work areas are kept neat, tidy and obstruction free
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric / Grade12
- Valid Forklift certificate and License
- Logistics and warehouse experience
- Product Knowledge
- Experience in warehousing logistics/FMCG environment
- WMOS experience and knowledge
- Operating a MHE Machine
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work additional and flexible hours
- Ability to work within a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to move products which may require bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and/or lifting in line with health and safety regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members
