Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications with English literacy
Requirements
- Medically fit to work in the specific business area
- Clear security screening record.
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
- At least 5 years contractor management experience, as well as administration knowledge within a mining, services or processing environment.
- National Diploma in Safety Management
- SAMTRAC or COMSOC 1&2
Advantageous Qualifications
- An auditor certificate will be advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Administration
- Manages all relevant data received through Health and Safety reports, screening and profiles by gathering, monitoring, manipulating, collating and analysing data based on experience and knowledge of the function.
- Presents information to management in the form of reports and provides advice based on specialist knowledge by compiling reports-based information received, scrutinizing submitted reports from the Operation and providing feedback.
- Attends and participates in meetings by providing required information based on acquired knowledge and experience.
- Keeps abreast of latest relevant Health and Safety developments, innovations and technologies by means of liaising with other sources and by attending meetings on a regular basis.
- Assists with the maintenance and updates of relevant policies, procedures and regulations in line with current trends and developments and based on own specialist knowledge.
- Ensures that costs are controlled and wastage of resources is eliminated by working within prescribed budgets. Reports deviations to Supervisor.
- Performs any other activities necessary for the effective completion of his / her work. Building a values-based organisational culture
- Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment. ESG Compliance
- SA Gold Operations: Align to Work Gold Council (WGC) responsible mining principles.
- SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative. SHE Compliance
- Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment.
- Participate in risk assessments and investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. SHE Management:
- Instil a culture of SHE leadership within the department. Quality Management System (QMS):
- Maintain department’s documents.
- Comply with requirements of the Quality Management System. Focus on safe production & operational excellence
- Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence
- Improve our position on global industry cost curve People Management
- Provide coaching and on-the-job training to reporting staff.
- Manage performance and development of reporting staff.
- Ensure fair work allocation for team members.
- Inspire team members towards high performance.
